Bride's father struck by lightning during speech

This is especially true for a wedding in Canada last week, when the bridge’s father, JP Nadeau, was struck by lightning mid-sentence in his apple orchard in New Brunswick, Canada.

It sounds like one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments that nobody is likely to forget anytime soon.

“And just as I told my new son-in-law ‘You’re a lucky guy’ – Boom!” he told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Turns out Mr Nadeau is the lucky guy, as he walked away from this ordeal with a small scar on his thumb, but otherwise completely unharmed.

Mr Nadeau says that storm clouds had gathered behind him at the ceremony on July 8, and his daughter saw lightning strike the ground nearby.

"I had the microphone and the shock jumped into the sound system and my hand just lit up and I saw the spark," he told the CBC.
