In a statement to the ASX, NAB announced that Angela Mentis will relocate to Auckland to take the executive leadership reins at Bank NZ from January 2018.

Currently chief customer officer – business and private banking at NAB, Ms Mentis was formerly executive general manager of the bank’s private wealth business and has been a director of Bank NZ since December 2016.

Prior to joining the NAB group, Ms Mentis held senior management roles at BT Financial Group, Macquarie and Citibank.

“Leading BNZ is an equally exciting opportunity for Angela, who becomes the first female CEO in the company’s history,” said NAB CEO Andrew Thorburn in the ASX statement.
