World University Rankings 2018: On Tuesday, the Times Higher Education released the World University Rankings list for the year 2018. While everyone hopes that Indian educational institutions reach the top and are ranked among the best but sadly, not of the Indian varsities have been able to make it to the top 200 in the list. While Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has been ranked the highest among all the other Indian universities, it ranks in the 251-300 slot. The top slots in the ranking are dominated by United Kingdom and United States, while the University of Oxford has been ranked number 1, University of Cambridge follows at number 2 and California Institute of Technology shares the third spot with Stanford University. Indian Institute of Science (IISc): Founded in 1909, the Indian Institute of Science (IIS) is located in the city of Bangalore. The Institute has been ranked the highest among all the other Indian varsities. While the institute ranked between 91-100 in the World Reputation Rankings of the year 2011, it has been raked between 251–300 in the World University Rankings 2018. In the past, the varsity was ranked between 276-300 in 2015, between 251-300 in 2016 and between 201-250 in 2017. (IE)
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay: Established in the year 1958, IIT Bombay was the first technology institution set up with foreign assistance in the country. It was ranked 26th in the BRICS & Emerging Economies list of 2017 and it has been ranked between 351–400 in the World University Rankings 2018. In the previous rankings, the varsity was ranked between 301-350 in 2012, between 251-275 in 2013, between 351-400 in 2014, between 351-400 in 2015, 2016 and between 351-400 in 2017. (IE)
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi: Established in 1961, IIT Delhi was ranked at number 32 in the BRICS & Emerging Economies list of 2017 and it has been between 501–600 in the World University Rankings 2018 by the Times Higher Education. In the past, IIT Delhi, was ranked between 351-400 in 2014, between 401-500 in 2016 and between 401-500 in 2017. (IE)
