"I thought, Hmmm, Stewart sounds very polite," the UK mom wrote on Facebook.
Juliet then noticed that Stew's car wasn't in the driveway, and though she did think it was odd that he would pass out for the night in her walk-in closet, she assumed that it was just her son up to his antics. "He looked like my son enough to pass a cursory. (Stew changes his hair and facehair a lot)," she wrote. "I thought his hand looked mucky, but figured it could be that his car broke, and just thought ah well, Stewart does funny stuff, he can explain what he is up to in the morning."
So off she went, back to bed. The next morning, Juliet was downstairs when her husband, Cliff, came down and mentioned that there was a naked guy upstairs with a partially painted face from a Halloween celebration. "It turned out it was a guy called Marc, with a half painted face, who had left his clothes in the conservatory covered in mud, with his muddy phone," she wrote.
What puzzled Juliet most was not how she mistook this stranger for her son, but just how Marc managed to get so dirty. "I wonder if he was walking home and threw himself over the fence at the back? Or did he pick up all that mud in the woods? We live in the middle of nowhere," she wrote. "Bwhahah, random night for Marc."
It turns out that Marc -- who'd had a bit of a wild night and couldn't remember how he drunkenly stumbled into the Jarvis residence -- lives just a few miles away, so Cliff nicely gave him a ride to the right home. "Obviously housetrained by someone, he knew not to walk mud through, his shoes were in the conservatory," she wrote. "I wonder if he even knows my son?"
