A man has been left red-faced after accidentally driving his car into a south Auckland Subway store on Monday night.
He was trying to jump-start the car's dead battery but didn't realise it was in 'drive' instead of 'neutral'.
When he pushed down on the accelerator, the car smashed straight through the shop's doors.
"He was hanging half inside and half outside the car," one of the witnesses told Newshub, saying the car just "got away from him".
It stopped just before the Subway's counter and luckily, the man escaped unharmed.
