Vodafone has announced it will shut down its email service, saying it can no longer provide the experience its customers need.
The tech giant has cited rising technological issues as the reason for the shutdown saying "We tried very hard to fix this for our customers with little success due to the age of the platform. That's simply not good enough for us here at Vodafone, so we've made the decision to close the service down."
Vodafone admits that a number of their customers are no longer using the email service, but is working with Google and Microsoft to ensure that nobody is left behind in the changeover.
The Vodafone email service has been in use since 1990 but has recently suffered from problems with "huge amounts of spam and delays in receiving emails".
